New York Electrical Contractors Association Hosts MWBE Roundtable on Reform Legislation in New York

On October 29, the New York Electrical Contractors Association (NYECA), a Willett client, hosted a productive roundtable discussion on MWBE reform legislation in New York.

Leading the discussion were NYECA representatives, along with Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte, Chairwoman of the Assembly Oversight of Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises Subcommittee, and Senator James Sanders, member of the Senate Labor Committee.

Willett helped organize this event, which also included representatives from the Subcontractors Trade Association (another Willet client) as well as other leading construction trade associations. The purpose of the roundtable was to begin a discussion between key policymakers and important stakeholders in advance of the 2019 legislative session, where MWBE reform will likely be on the agenda (the current law expires in December 2019).
