Willett client New York Electrical Contractors Association (NYECA) recently lobbied the New York City Council to pass an important new bill, Int. No. 1054, which creates an online submission process for filing permits applications at FDNY, saving contractors substantial time and money. Previously, all FDNY permit applications had to be submitted in-person. The bill now awaits Mayor de Blasio's approval.
NYECA, working with Willett, helped introduce Int. No, 1054, testified in favor, led an industry-wide coalition in support, and drafted a friendly amendment to the bill strengthening its effect. Working together, NYECA and Willett helped pass this important legislation through the City Council in a very short timeframe.
