This month, Willett Public Affairs said a bittersweet goodbye to our Senior Vice President Matt Lesieur. Matt has been with Willett almost since the firm's inception while also serving as Executive Director of Willett client iHealth. He is returning to his former employer and other long-time client VillageCare as a director of in-house government affairs.
Matt's hard work, health care policy expertise, and positive leadership has brought Willett and our clients countless successes throughout his tenure. He lobbied Albany for affordable and inclusive long-term care and forged meaningful relationships with legislators for our clients that will last for years to come. Notably, Matt's lobbying efforts led to the dismissal of a proposed $125 million cut to the Medicaid Health Home Program, which provides roughly 170,000 New Yorkers with essential care management services. "Matt is a friend and colleague. He was with Willett from almost the beginning. I am personally grateful for all he has done to help grow the firm, and I know we will always remain good friends and valued colleagues," said Willett President Perry Ochacher.
"I take great pride in the accomplishments and successes I have achieved on behalf of my clients at Willett Public Affairs. The working environment was exceptional, and I gained invaluable experience at Willett," Matt said. "I am thankful for this experience and look forward to applying it in my new role as in-house government affairs staff at VillageCare, which is also a former employer of mine and client of Willett."
We will miss Matt dearly but know he is in great hands with our friends at VillageCare. Good luck Matt, and Willett wishes you all the best in your new role!
