Willett Public Affairs, working with Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins, Senator Shelley Mayer and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, is pleased to announce that $1 million in capital grant funding has been secured in the New York State 2025 budget for a computerized tomography (CT) scanner suite buildout at Burke Rehabilitation, an award-winning and nationally recognized 150-bed inpatient rehabilitation center in Westchester, which is part of the Montefiore Healthcare System.

Under the leadership of Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins, who secured $500,000, Senator Shelley Mayer, who secured  $250,000, and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, who secured $250,000, the CT scanner suite at Burke can now become operational, allowing the hospital to treat its patients more quickly and precisely, on site.

Burke's new, on-site CT scanner, with its rapid and precise scanning capabilities, will allow Burke to provide immediate and accurate diagnoses for its patients, who presently must be sent off-site to other medical facilities for their CT scans. The new CT scanner, which will be housed in a specialized suite on the Burke campus that can now be built thanks to these funds, will significantly improve patient outcomes and potentially save lives, by saving time. For example, it will allow Burke's medical team to quickly determine the type of stroke a patient is experiencing and administer the appropriate treatment without the delay of transferring patients to other facilities for an accurate diagnosis.

In 2024, Willett Public Affairs crafted and executed an effective, strategic

government affairs plan to identify and secure these essential state funds for Burke.

Willett Public Affairs and Burke Rehabilitation are deeply grateful to Leader Stewart-Cousins, Senator Mayer and Assemblywoman Paulin for their generous support of Burke and their patients. Willett looks forward to continuing to work with Burke Rehabilitation and the dedicated elected officials who help them deliver the highest quality of patient  care.
