Willett Solutions President Perry Ochacher has been appointed to the New York State Legislature’s new Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) Policy Development Group.
As a leader in state construction law and policy, Ochacher represents clients Subcontractors Trade Association (STA) and New York Electrical Contractors Association (NYECA) on the Policy Development Group, which was created after no new MWBE legislation made it into this year’s state budget; the current program expires this year.
Organized by Senator James Sanders and Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte, the MWBE Policy Development Group centers on discussion, negotiation and agreement on new and improved state MWBE laws with key industry representatives.
Ochacher will work closely with state legislators and the governor’s office over the next several months to help draft a new state MWBE law before the end of this year’s legislative session.
