Willett Public Affairs client Josh Morrison, founder of Waitlist Zero, a nonprofit focusing on the shortage of available kidneys from living donors and providing support to those who donate their organs, was recently profiled in Vox for his life-saving work. Josh, a kidney donor himself, was a corporate attorney until he decided to switch careers and focus on saving people's lives. So in addition to Waitlist Zero, Josh also helped launch 1Day Sooner and is working on the Operation Warp Speed 2.0 project, both geared toward accelerating the availability of next generation Covid vaccines.
Willett Public Affairs, representing Save Lives Now New York/Waitlist Zero in New York, recently worked with Josh and his team to pass the Living Donor Support Act (S.1594 - Senator Rivera/Assemblyman Gottfried), groundbreaking legislation that will reimburse donors for the costs associated with living organ donation. S.1594 will soon be sent to Governor Hochul for final action, and we continue to lobby for its passage.
Willett Public Affairs is so proud of Josh and his dedication to saving lives, all detailed in the recent Vox article, and we are honored to partner with his team in making New York State a policy leader on living organ donation.
